ASU is a collaborative union that promotes and teaches the Asian Culture. The organization teaches others about the importance of the Asian Culture as well as educating themselves on the subject matter. ASU also participates in community service to help with our service to others.

The Black Student Union of Albuquerque Public Schools, in collaboration with teachers, parents, and the community, will educate itself and others about African American History and culture.  The BSU will also promote and prepare ALL to become contributing members of a diverse, changing world with respect and appreciation for the uniqueness of others.

The Manzano High School Choral Program seeks to promote vocal music and positivity in our school community and beyond through performance. We nurture an enjoyment and understanding of music, explore creativity in expression of feelings and ideas, expand awareness and appreciation of different kinds of music and different cultures, develop skills in cooperative learning, and represent MHS with poise and pride. The Manzano Choirs travel every year and have had strong representation at both District and State competitions.

Delta Epsilon Phi (ΔΕΦ) National Honor Society for High School Students of German recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of learners of German and rewards scholastic achievement in the study of German and to promote interest in the study of German language, literature, and civilization.

Educators Rising explores the teaching profession.  We are here to support all of the wonderful and extraordinary teachers!  We work with local elementary and middle schools to support their teachers and staff.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a non-denominational, student-led group of athletes who share in love and belief in Christianity.  Student-Athletes share handouts, scripture, videos, music, books and stories related to their belief in Christ.  Student-Athletes also can say special prayers for friends and family members as well as for their teams, teammates, opponents and coaches.

Under strict rules and limited time and resources, teams of high school students are challenged to build industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game in alliance with other teams, while also fundraising to meet their goals, designing a team “brand,” and advancing respect and appreciation for STEM within the local community.

Manzano High School Key Club is part of the international organization of Key Clubs, the oldest and largest service organization for high school students.  Members of Key Club complete a variety of service projects and volunteer opportunities throughout the school year, both in the community and at school.  Key Club is open to all students.

New Mexico Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement, Inc. (NM MESA) prepares middle and high school students for college majors and careers in mathematics, engineering, science and related fields. NM MESA supports programs throughout the state, in which students participate in activities such as field trips, speaker presentations, workshops, academic competitions, community service and leadership development.

The MHS Orchestra is one of the top in the state. It rehearses daily, goes on trips, works with professionals, does at least 4 concerts a year and has a lot of fun!  (Prior orchestral string playing experience required)!

 Model UN (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the UN agenda.

Mythology Club is a place where people with an interest in Mythology can get together and discuss different myths, legends, and regional folklore, spanning from Greek and Norse mythology to New Mexican and Southwestern Cuentos (New Mexican Folk Tales). 




National Honor Society is an organization designed to recognize and foster academic achievement, leadership, service, and character.  Students apply and are selected for membership each spring.  Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 for 3 semesters in order to be eligible to apply for membership.  Members of the National Honor Society spend much of their time in service to the school and community.

Peer Sponsors 21 schools have one (or two) adult sponsors who are trained in suicide prevention, positive youth development, and peer-helping skills. Students at the 21 APS sites nominate other students who they see as honest, trustworthy, and caring. The nominated students are invited to join the APS Peer Helpers Program, which is adapted from the NM Youth Peer to Peer Helper program (NM YP2PH), and the Natural Helper program. It is based on the premise that when young people have problems, they most often turn to friends for help, and within every school, an informal “helping network” exists.

As the MHS student newspaper, the Paw Print publishes six times a year. Our goal is to provide news, editorials, sports, and reviews of movies, books, and music to the student body. The Paw Print is a great way to get coupons for local businesses and to see what is going on in the Manzano Community.

Students with at least 3 semester of Spanish class are invited by their teachers to join our organization. We do community service on and off campus, and strive to continue to learn Spanish by attending various cultural events in Albuquerque. We take field trips to Spanish restaurants, learn Latin dances, and attend events like the Day of the Dead parade.

Sports Medicine is a club designed to promote medical occupations through hands on activities. We will bring in medical professionals as guest speakers to further the students' educational background in the medical field. 
Students will participate as student athletic trainers at Manzano HS sporting events throughout the school year. 
Participation in the sports medicine class is strongly advised.  Educational meetings will be composed of working on learning new skills, etc.

Ted club strives to give students practical experience in public speaking, as well as guide them as they construct a captivating, informative talk. This club utilizes the resources provided by TED, including their 12 step plan as a means to help students produce their final product.

Garden club is an academic insight into the world of horticulture and efficient farming.  This club aims to help students understand the global impacts of farming, teach them sustainable practices, and give them hands on experiences in a variety of plant related activities.  Additionally, the club involves finding innovative solutions to farming through the use of engineering.

The organization is designed for students, as well as all members of the Manzano community to offer support for the mentally ill.  Any student or teacher with ADD, ADHD, Bi-Polar, Schizophrenia, Depression, eating disorders, etc., and any students interested in supporting other students with mental illness will meet once a week in K227 to discuss school related issues. The alliance will work with parents, to offer each other support, discuss coping and learning tools, and create a safety net. The alliance will also work towards creating mental health awareness. There will be fun activities to members  relax and interact with peers in a healthy environment.

Student Senators are student advocates who help govern issues dealing with the student body. They organize school events such as dances, assemblies, and more. They also collaborate with the administration to discuss and revise school policies if needed.
